Notes Purchased direct from BR in 1963 to replace Collett 3500 gallon tender no. 1805 (q.v.) which was then in use with GWR Dukedog 4-4-0 no. 9017. This tender has carried the number 1840 for many years. An article in Bluebell News in May 1964 identifies it as no. 2331 and this is repeated on the current official Bluebell Railway website. Based on the contemporary reference in May 1964 its original identity is assumed to be 2331. Further documentary evidence of this number would be helpful. Not known if tank has been replaced since preservation but the well tank has been removed at some stage so capacity is now less than 3500 gallons.
