Notes 7821 was purchased for preservation with a Churchward 3500 gallon tender believed to be number 2202 which had arrived at Barry coupled to GWR 2884 class 2-8-0 no. 3862. This has had a new Collett 3500 gallon style tank fitted since preservation which is 4 to 5 inches taller than an original Collett 3500 gallon tank. Current tank capacity is based on the cast plate on rear of the tender. The current number is that of one of the tenders 7821 was coupled to when in BR service.
