Notes	Built sometime between 1838 and 1845. This is a water carrier and did not have space for coal. Eventually sold to the Forcett Limestone Company, Co Durham as a water carrier and obtained from there by the LNER c1923. In the past there have been unsubstantiated claims as to which loco this tender was used with. When originally preserved around 1923 it was said that the tender was from the SDR 0-6-0 loco Whig, later in 1956 the tender was attributed to the SDR 0-6-0 loco Etherley. Research published in the book The Bradyll Locomotive and Collier Class Tender by M Bailey and J Glithero (published in 1994) says these claims are unsubstantiated and there is no definite evidence as to previous allocations. It is also likely that tenders were swapped between different Collier class locos. Nonetheless the tender is often referred to as the Etherley tender. SDR Collier class 0-6-0 Braddyll is also kept at the Hackworth Museum in Shildon but the tender and loco are displayed separately.
